Bowe Bergdahl

4, 3, 2, 1

As of yesterday Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl has been held behind enemy lines by the Haqqani Network for 4 years, 3 months, 2 weeks, 1 day.

Amid our government shutdown, election season politics, and philosophical bickering, a soldier is lost.

There are different takes on June 30, 2009, the day then PFC Bergdahl went missing which range from fellow soldiers stationed with him stating that he simply walked away from the outpost to the official Army statement saying that he was unarmed and outside the base perimeter with three Afghan soldiers when the four men were seized by insurgents.

Still, the one thing everyone agrees on is that he was captured by the enemy and remains America’s only known Prisoner Of War.

He has not been demobed.

He has not been issued his DD Form 214.

He is not home.

A father speaks for his son but for the most part, people are not aware that those black POW-MIA flags actually have significance and there is still one American who signed up to stand at post who has not stood down.

Contact the House of Representatives. Contact the Senate. Contact the White House.

Let them know that this American soldier should not be forgotten.

Bring him home.
